Number 10: Narcissists Get Hurt When You Leave and Are At Peace Without Them.

Narcissists get hurt when you leave and are at peace without them. They wish to hold on to you but refuse to let go; they refuse to say goodbye. Narcissists get hurt when you leave them because they do not want to be alone. They must be around you at all times, and if you ever leave, they’ll be lost without you in their life all the time.

Narcissists hate the thought of you being able to be happy without them in your life. They must be the focal point of your world, and they know that if not, it’s because they weren’t able to get you under their control. Narcissists also realize that if they lose control over you, they lose control over you, and feel helpless and exposed.

Narcissists are tough. They’re tough to love, tough to empathize with, and tough to hurt. On the inside, they’re insecure and wincingly self-hating. A narcissist possesses a vulnerable ego, so they always attempt to protect it from potential harm by presenting an image superior to the real one or demonstrating superiority.

Therefore, they work hard to avoid getting anything but commendation and support because they are not able to tolerate disagreement, disapproval, or even constructive criticism.
