9. Do Not Gossip with Them.
Gossiping is something narcissists enjoy, and they might use it as ammunition to gossip about you before other people. Not only can this land you in hot water with other individuals through gossiping, but you can also ensure that the narcissist will be gossiping about you behind your back.
If you had previously had a narcissist as an individual whom you enjoyed gossiping with, then suddenly not gossiping with them will be wildly confusing to them. This is particularly true if you’ve been conversing with them like this for a very long time. Punctuating the gossip with a narcissist will not only keep you safe, but also those around you.
8. Don’t Share Your Personal Info.
If you have ever worked with a narcissist, then you already know they should not be trusted with any type of secret or personal information. That’s because they will share it with others even if they’ve been told not to. Worse still, certain narcissists will even employ the fact of knowing this type of information as blackmail if you displease them on short notice.
So one of the best ways to throw a narcissist off is also to guard yourself by simply not giving them your personal information. This is especially so if making the information public would humiliate or embarrass you if others were to find out about it, or if a narcissist can potentially use the information against you in an argument to their advantage.
