Narcissists are extremely insecure individuals who require constant affirmations that they’re being loved and admired. They’ll do anything to make them feel good about themselves, even if it comes at the expense of being slightly insincere. Narcissists require much admiration and attention, and this is the reason why they prefer pleasing the virtual world readily.
This is due to the fact that the virtual world can provide instant gratification and feedback. Narcissists are addicted to being perceived as better than others, and thus, they will seize every chance they get to be reminded that they are achievers. They will want to share selfies in the gym, wearing a new outfit, or bragging about something that costs money.
Number 3. It Makes Narcissists Feel Admired and Good
Every time their social media update is liked or followed, they feel it’s a compliment. Narcissists like to boast on social media because it makes them feel good and admired. They’re so accustomed to flattery of being special that they require constant validation.
Narcissists also prefer controlling the message and using the internet to present a cosmetic face that’s different from who they truly are. Narcissists usually go out of their way to make sure that their posts contain only what they desire people to know: gorgeous locations, amazing things that happened, etc.
