Number 1: You know who you are and what you want.
Narcissists thrive on controlling their environment and everyone in it. Still, one of the best ways to maintain control is to keep people from knowing themselves, knowing who you are and what you want makes it harder for a narcissist to manipulate and control your life.
They will try to convince you that you’re worthless or untalented. Still, if you recognize these tactics for what they are, they won’t affect your life. A narcissist will try to get under your skin by making you feel like you’re doing everything wrong, they’ll tell you that your voice is too loud or too soft and that your hair looks terrible in that color.
And that the way you dress is just not right, but if none of those things matter to you then they don’t have any power over how well your days go. You don’t need anyone to give you validation because you have confidence in what you are and want.
